  • No pets or companion animals allowed, check out the FAQs for details.
  • Standing room based on space available, first come, first served. BYO seating.
  • Opening act starting at 3 p.m. to kick off festival activities
  • Fort Carson main gate is open to the public (despite the Colorado amendment to legalize marijuana, possession or ingestion of marijuana on a federal installation is punishable by federal law)

Red, White and Blue Run at Fort Carson Freedom Fest

  • Open to DOD ID card holders and their guests.
  • Gate access security procedures apply for the general public.
  • Festival site opens at 3 p.m.
  • Same-day registration starts at 4 p.m.
  • Race starts at 6 p.m. in Fort Carson Iron Horse Park (follow the signs from the main entrance to the race area)
  • Distance: Official 5K
  • Runners wait in line, grouped by shirt color, and are released in the order of red first, white second, and blue third.

Run Registration and T-shirts

  • All sales are final and non-refundable. No returns or exchanges.
  • Early Bird Online Registration: $10 per person ages 4+, free for ages 3 and under  with paid registration (limit 4 per transaction, no exceptions)
  • Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on June 28, 2018.
  • T-shirt plus (1) party favor included with each early bird paid registration, and available while supplies last.
  • Same-Day Registration: $20 cash only per person ages 5+, free for ages 4 and under. Shirts not guaranteed on same-day registration.
  • No t-shirt for child (ages 0-4) registration.
  • Limited quantity adult size only shirts come in red, white and blue. No kids shirts available.

Packet Pick-Up

  • Packet pick-up at Iron Horse Sports and Fitness Center is available from 5 9:30 p.m.
  • Proof of purchase required for packet pick-up

 Race Details

  • Waiver required for participation
  • All ages and abilities welcome
  • Runners to the left, walkers and strollers to the right
  • No porta-potties along route
  • No pets allowed, except for ADA service animals (emotional comfort animals do not qualify as ADA service animals)

Artist Bio

  • Born in Baltimore, MD. Swank Sinatra has roots in the Caribbean. Trinidad and Tobago to be exact. Swank Sinatra grew up in Brooklyn, NY and the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area where he finished high school in Loudon County. 
  • He has college degrees and is currently still in college.
  • Swank Sinatra currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife, child, and three dogs. 
  • He started out with spoken word while he was deployed to Kuwait in 2015 and recently ventured into the music scene in early 2017.
  • He recorded his very first track called "Grow Up" at CCM Recording Studios in Denver. This is also where he still records and where all his tracks are recorded at. 
  • Swank Sinatra is hoping his music reaches everyone around the world. His lyrics are about his life and what he has been going through. He recently had a complete turn-around with his life which brought about the need to make music. 
  • His beat-selection and delivery-type are not like any other traditional rappers. He likes to pick challenging beats and very non-traditional styles of delivery.

  • Recently opened for Beat Colorado's Fetty Wap Birthday Bash and is performing next month at the Underground Music Showcase in Denver

4 on 4 Sand Volleyball Tournament

Fireworks Show

  • Open to DOD ID cardholders and their guests

  • Fireworks show is contingent upon fire ban status and subject to cancellation
  • 9:15 p.m.: 1812 Overture
  • 9:30 p.m.: Fireworks show

  • Rides vary in price (between 3-6 tokens)
  • Multiple token purchase must done on site
  • The machine will issue a card for 18 tokens with a $2 fee bringing the cost to $20
  • The card can be reloaded at $1 per token with a $1 fee during the event
  • Tokens cannot be pre-purchased

Full-Day Individual Ride Wristbands

  • Same-day: $30
  • Wristbands can be purchased in advance for $25 online and is only good for 1 day

  • Wristbands are strongly recommended for those wishing to ride a lot of rides
  • To purchase multiple wristbands, customers must click purchase more than once (as many times as they need number of wristbands). Each time they click it, the system will add a wristband to their "cart".
  • In order to purchase wristbands for each day, customers will follow the same process (no need to distinguish the day).
  • Once they "check out they will print a receipt that shows how many wristbands they purchased and the amount paid. They must bring that with them on the day of the event and get their wristbands at the ticket box (all wristbands will be issued the first time they go to the ticket box. The purchaser will simply tell the ticket window staff how many of the pre-paid wristbands are for which day(s).

  • No ATM's available on festival site, bring cash if you need to.
  • ATM's available offsite at Fort Carson Commissary and AAFES PX
  • Crabtree Amusements reserves the right to determine at which point in the evening it is no longer going to sell wristbands but only sell individual tickets - it may determine that it is more efficient for getting customers through the line. No refunds will be given for any reason, including inclement weather.

Other Restrictions

  • Know your limitations.
  • Participating in carnival rides during pregnancy is not recommended. Please consult your medical care provider. Visit to find out more about Pregnancy and Amusement Parks.
  • Ride and game vendors are not responsible for any personal property items lost by customers while on the amusement rides.

Carnival FAQ's

  • Can I buy individual tickets/tokens for the rides or do I have the buy the wristand?
    • The wristband is good for all-day unlimited rides. Individual tickets/tokens may be purchased as you see fit. Signage is posted one each ride stating the ticket requirements.
  • Are the wristbands refundable?
    • Nope. No refunds. No exceptions.
  • Is there a cut-off time for ticket/token/wristband sales?
    • Crabtree Amusements reserves the right to determine the cutoff time for wristband/ticket/token sales.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    • No pets allowed. Visit the FAQ page to learn more.

Installation Access

  • Non-DOD ID cardholders are welcome to attend the event. They will need to enter through Gates 1 and 20 on Friday and Sunday. No need to stop by the visitor's center. However, if they wish to attend on Saturday, they will need a gate pass from the visitor's center.
  • Installation access procedures apply on all days of Fort Carson Freedom Fest.
  • All personnel entering Fort Carson must be in possession of a valid state or federally issued photo ID from a REAL ID Act compliant state. Current states not in compliance are: Alaska, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia & Washington. (Update to the REAL ID Act effective June 1, 2017)
  • If using an ID from a state or territory that is not REAL ID Act compliant, then an approved secondary form of ID is required.  More information on the REAL ID Act can be found at


  • Parking is free, space is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • All personnel must park in designated parking areas.
  • Parking in prohibited areas will result in a citation and the vehicle being towed.
  • Please follow the signs for designated parking areas.

Physical Security/Other

  • 100% random personal property inspection in effect.
  • No personal fireworks allowed on Fort Carson. These items are prohibited per FC Regulation 210-2-8.
  • No firearms and/or weapons allowed.
  • Privately owned drones/UAV's are not allowed.
  • No coolers or tents allowed in the festival area. Coolers and tents are allowed in designated picnic areas only.
  • No glass containers allowed.
  • Alcohol in private containers is not allowed. Alcohol may be purchased from vendors located in the festival area.
  • Despite the Colorado amendment to legalize marijuana, possession of marijuana on a federal installation is a violation of federal law. 

Pets/Companion Animals vs. Service Animals

  • No pets or companion animals allowed.
  • Only ADA service animals are allowed onsite.
  • Companion Animals are not protected under the ADA.
  • Under Colorado state law HB16-1426 (effective January 2017), it is a crime to knowingly misrepresent an animal as a service animal.


  • Please observe posted speed limits.
  • The area around the festival venue will become congested, please slow down and watch out for pedestrians.


  • Event goes on regardless of weather. Those attending the event assume the risk of injury as a result of inclement weather.
  • In the event of lightning, a warning is issued and guests are asked to clear the area and/or return to their cars until an "all clear" announcement is issued.
